The following email was sent to members on December 16, 2020:

 

Good Afternoon!

Needless to say, 2020 has brought about changes in the way we work, learn, and socialize. SEOTY/GSOTY for 2021 is also being celebrated differently. NSEA, with the support of members who attended the NSEA conference, has decided to honor the top 3 student submissions from each region.

NSEA will not be issuing a monetary award for 2021. 

NSEA is not requiring the usual form to be submitted. They are only requiring a one page letter highlighting the student's accomplishments. Please note the following:

1. There is no restriction on the length of employment for the student

2. In place of "nomination" we will be using "submission" as there isn't one winner

3. Please refer to the NACE core competencies fact sheet to assist supervisors with their submission

 

The process for GSOTY will remain the same as in the past, letter of recommendation and job description. 

 

The Board has decided that as a region, we will still offer monetary awards to the top 3 submissions and our Graduate Student Employee of the Year in the amount of $250. The other state winners will receive $100.
